Wedding FAQ

Are you recently engaged? Or hoping to be engaged soon? Well, you've come to the right place! I have been a wedding photographer for 12 years and have learned quite a bit in that time, so let me give you a little help to start you on this journey! This section has a lot of information in it, so take your time to look through everything, and when you are ready to get started just shoot me a message or give me a call!
How do I know which package is right for me?
The most-asked question I get is, "How much time do I need a photographer for on my wedding day?" There are a lot of factors to take into consideration when deciding which package to book and how long you will need me for. You want to look at your timeline for the day, and make sure you schedule enough time to get all of the photos in that you are wanting. Your day will most likely look different based on which type of wedding you are going to be having; a traditional ceremony or an LDS Temple ceremony. I have some great tips to help you plan both! Click on the links below to take a look at some guidelines that I have for planning your wedding day and deciding how long you will want me there!

What kind of ceremony will you be having?
Do I need a second shooter?

Another thing to consider when booking your photographer is, do you need a second shooter? There isn't a simple one-size-fits-all answer for this question. I always say that a second shooter is a good idea, because it will mean that you end up with more pictures, as well as a larger variety of pictures. However, there are some situations in which it proves to be more valuable than others. Check out this blog post to see if you want to add a second photographer to your package!
How long until my images are ready?

Engagement and Bridal Sessions will be ready within 2-3 weeks of the session, or earlier if needed (please just let me know when we book your session if you will need them earlier). Weddings will be ready within 6-8 weeks. I take my time and edit each picture carefully so it will be worth the wait :)

How will I get my images?

All of your images will be uploaded to an online gallery where you can download and share all of the pictures. After your wedding I will put all of the images onto a flash drive for you as well.

How many images will I get?

I don't limit the amount of photos that you will get - I give you ALL of the good pictures that tell the story of your wedding day. At a minimum you can expect about 70 pictures per hour of shooting, but there will probably be a lot more than that!

Can I print my photos anywhere?

The short answer is yes! The long answer is that I don't necessarily recommend it! You can purchase prints through your online gallery that are done through a professional printing company, or I can recommend some local shops who do an amazing job. If you print the photos through a store like Walgreens, I can't guarantee that they will look good or even be the right color. I also offer 50% off prints and albums within 6 months after the wedding!!

Do you know how to use artificial light/flash?

YES! There are a lot of photographers out there who claim to be "natural light" photographers and have no idea how to use lighting. This works great for most sessions, but NOT for weddings. You just never know what the lighting will be like in a venue and I come prepared for every situation. I am an expert at using lighting to help enhance images and keep them looking natural and beautiful.

Can I see an entire wedding gallery?

Of course! I WANT you to see an entire gallery! Websites usually show the best images someone has taken so it's important to look through entire galleries to make sure you get an idea of what your finished gallery will look like. Once I know more about your wedding details I can find some galleries that will be similar and send them to you to look through.
